MAGGI® Working Towards a More Sustainable Future

Because every contribution counts

From Tomato Sauces to Coconut Milk Powder, across our portfolio MAGGI® is looking at ways to support a more sustainable foodservice industry. For us, farming is a key part of working sustainably. As part of this we're starting a journey with our tomato suppliers and farmers to work towards improving soil health and water management. We are also proud of our work to increase the recyclability of our packaging. Every contribution counts and can help work towards a better tomorrow.

What are we doing as MAGGI®?

Taking steps towards sustainable tomato farming

All tomatoes used are sourced locally to our factory in Spain and field-grown.

For over 10 years we have collaborated, empowered and are supporting local tomato farmers to improve the sustainability of their agriculture practices.

Currently, all tomato fields supplying our MAGGI® Rich & Rustic Tomato Sauce factory are implementing techniques to help enhance crop quality whilst keeping sustainability in mind. These include crop rotation, soil analysis for optimised fertilisation, and the use of satellite or drone imagery for regular crop monitoring.

MAGGI® Rich & Rustic, using only field-grown, sun-ripened Spanish tomatoes

We source all our tomatoes in sunny Miajades, in the heart of the Spanish Tomato growing region from farms less than 60km from the factory. We use only field-grown, sun-ripened tomatoes which we harvest only once a year, during the sunny season.

MAGGI Professional Coconut Powder bag

New Coconut Milk Powder Bags

From April 2026 our Coconut Milk Powder bags are designed for recycling, made from OPP/metOPP/PE material. This means we are actively preparing for future recycling facilities in foodservice. From 31st March 2027 flexible plastic materials will be collected from business premises in England, under "Simpler Recycling".

Recyclable packaging

Fully Recyclable Tubs

We now use white plastic tubs that can be easily recycled. All the components of tubs packaging - container, lid and label - are built from the same material: polypropylene (PP). They are also dishwasher safe for further use, even after the product is finished.
