Nescafé®'s responsible sourcing journey starts with the men and women who grow our coffee beans. The farmers we work with are key on our sustainability journey, so we want to work with them to adopt regenerative agriculture practices and to improve their livelihoods.

NESCAFÉ in Europe is 100% responsibly sourced coffee, supporting coffee farmers to improve their lands and livelihood. Responsibly sourced coffee is traceable to the group of farms where it was grown and is produced in accordance with sustainability standards that have been validated as equivalent to our Responsible Sourcing Standard.

NESCAFÉ collaborates with organizations like the Rainforest Alliance and the 4C Association to promote sustainable farming practices, protect biodiversity, and improve the livelihoods of coffee farmers.

The machine freestanding unit used in NESCAFÉ Self-Serve is made from 90% recycled materials, including used coffee grounds. Recycling used coffee grounds like this means we can divert coffee from landfill and, at the same time, reduce how much plastic is needed – 30% of plastic can be replaced by used coffee grounds.

Our NESCAFÉ branded takeaway coffee cups are made from 95% paper and 5% PE lining, and can be recycled at any paper cup collection bin. Details of many cup collection providers are available via National Cup Recycling Scheme (NCRS)

Starbucks® sustainability commitment is centred around 3 main areas: responsible sourcing, environmental stewardship and community engagement. We are also improving the sustainability of our packaging.
