Maggi®cians Competition Full Terms and Conditions
FULL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These Terms and Conditions prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials. Entry and claim instructions are deemed to form part of the Terms and Conditions and by entering this promotion all participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the Terms and Conditions. Participants should retain a copy for their information.
The Promoter takes data protection seriously. By entering in this promotion, participants confirm that they have read the Privacy Policy and agree to these Terms and Conditions of the promotion. By submitting any information required as part of their participation into the campaign, participants agree to their information being held and processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.
ENTRY ELIGIBILITY
- The competition is open to qualifying United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) residents who are currently employed as professional chefs at an independent pub or restaurant, aged 18 and over only.
- Entry excludes employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter, affiliated companies, agents, or anyone else professionally connected with the promotion.
- Internet access and registration required.
- No purchase necessary.
- Registration opens online at 00:01 on 29.09.25 and closes at 23:59 on 28.10.25.
- The competition is made up of three (3) phases as outlined below.
- Participants must obtain their employer’s permission to take part.
- Entry is only possible via the promotional website. Attempts to enter via any other route will be deemed invalid.
- Maximum one (1) registered entry per person/per establishment.
- No entries from other trade groups, agents, third parties, organized groups, syndicates, or aliases will be accepted.
- All entries must be the entrant’s own work and must not infringe the copyright of any other person or company.
- The entry must be made directly by the individual entering the competition and cannot be made on behalf of another person.
- Failure to comply with any part of these clauses will disqualify the respective entry or relevant vote from the competition.
PHASE 1 REGISTRATION - Timing: Deadline for initial Registration is 23:59 on 28.10.25.
- To take part in the competition, participants must be a professional chef currently employed within a professional establishment.
The participant must go to the official website featured at https://www.nestleprofessional.co.uk/competitions/maggician-2025 and enter the competition by completing the required information in full;
a. First name, Last name, Email address, Phone number.
b. Job Title (i.e. Executive Chef, Head Chef, Sous Chef.)
c. Name of the Restaurant / location (city) where currently employed.
d. Confirmation that they are:
i. At least 18 years old
ii. Eligible to work and live in the UK as a professional working chef.
e. Provide the title/name of the dish.
f. Share their top culinary tip for using Maggi® products.
g. Confirm that by entering the competition, they have read and accepted the Terms and Conditions and have the permission of the owner of the establishment.
PHASE 2 – FIRST STAGE JUDGING TO SELECT TOP SIX (6) ENTRIES
Entrants are required to share the Maggi®c by sharing their top culinary tip for using any Maggi® product(s).
This will be judged against the following criteria:
- Is the tip inventive and unique?
- Does the tip utilise Maggi® ingredients in an innovative way?
- Does the tip help the chef (is it worth using)
Entrants are required to give details of their best-selling dish made using Maggi® Professional product(s) including the name and image of the dish. The judges will consider:
- Does the dish sound interesting/authentic?
- Is the dish visually appealing?
- Does the dish stand out on the menu?
Short description of the dish and how the Maggi® Professional product is used (maximum of 100 words). The judges will consider:
- Has the chef sold you the dish in words?
- Does the passion come out in the description?
- Have they explained where Maggi® fits in the dish?
- The Judging panel will consist of representatives from Nestlé Professional (Development Chef, Paul Hawkins), and two (2) Independent Judges and will be conducted under independent supervision.
The judging panel will individually score each entry. These marks will be subsequently ranked across all entries to find the top six (6). These will subsequently be reviewed at Phase 3.
PHASE 3 - JUDGING OF THE TOP SIX (6) FINALISTS
SELECTING THE WINNER AS MYSTERY DINERS
The judges will visit the venue of the shortlisted establishments to determine the score for the six (6) finalists and will score against the following criteria:
Creativity of the dish –
- Is the dish inventive and unique?
- Does the dish utilise ingredients in an innovative way?
- Does the dish show culinary skill?
Taste & flavour balance of the dish –
- Does the dish have a proper balance of seasonings, ingredients and flavour?
- Does the dish meet the menu description (i.e. says served with tarragon sauce, so does it taste like tarragon etc)
Presentation of the dish –
- Is the dish visually appealing?
- Is the portion size appropriate?
- Is the dish served in the correct proportion plate/bowl etc?
Technique used to prepare the dish –
- Was the dish cooked correctly (not under or over cooked)?
- Did the dish use any other techniques – char-grill, salted, fermented, pickled etc)
Best use of Maggi® product(s) –
- Does the dish use the Maggi® product(s) in a creative and innovative way?
Suitability for brand partnership –
- Is the venue clean, presentable?
- Is it a professional establishment/kitchen?
- Does it have the potential to be the type of venue Maggi® would want to partner with?
- Did the chef come to the table to chat?
- Did they explain the dish, were they talkative, polite, passionate?
The scoring process will be overseen by an independent adjudicator. In the event of a tie situation, the score(s) from Paul Hawkins and x2 other guests will take precedence to determine the ultimate winner.
- The results of the judging process will be validated under independent supervision.
- The Promoter’s decision is final and binding in all matters and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The top six (6) Finalists will be notified by email. Entrants should ensure they provide a valid, current email address as part of their registration, which is available throughout the duration of the competition.
- The overall winner will be contacted within five (5) days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted after three (3) attempts, the Promoter will select the next in line on the reserves list as an alternative winner.
The Promoter is not responsible or liable for;
a. Any entries that are lost or delayed due to faulty or failed electronic data transmissions.
b. Communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, networks, lines satellites, servers, computers or providers utilised in any aspect of this Promotion causing delays or disruption.
c. For entries which are lost, delayed, corrupted, damaged, misdirected, or incomplete or cannot be delivered for any technical, delivery or other reason. Proof of entry/transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
- Incomplete, illegal, misdirected, or late entries will not be accepted.
- There is no alternative to the stated prize or any cash substitute. The prize is non-transferable.
PRIZES
- The ultimate winner only will receive a prize package for their establishment containing: professional photoshoot at their restaurant/pub to help build content for their business, a Maggi® product bundle of the winning chef’s choice valued at £300, exposure through local media to boost their profile and drive awareness for their venue and he chance to become the 2026 face of Maggi®
- The prize cannot be exchanged for cash or another alternative. However, the Promoter reserves the right to offer an alternative of equal or greater value, in whole or part, in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
- Any Personal Tax liability arising from winning a prize will be the sole responsibility of the individual winner or the winning establishment. The employer’s/owner’s permission is required to participate in this competition.
- By taking part in the promotion, the winner agrees that the Promoter may contact them to ask whether they want to participate in marketing activities relating to the promotion. Such publicity may include, without limitation, the entrants’ name and/or if consent given, image or statements made by entrants concerning the promotion and/or prize obtained as part of the promotion. The winner is not obliged to agree to any such request.
- By providing an entry, each participant grants the Promoter and its agents the right to publish, use, reproduce, distribute, make available, edit and/or modify the entry including recipes, in any way, in whole or in part, in commerce and in any and all media worldwide now known or hereinafter developed, in perpetuity and without consideration or notice to the participant. Providing any entry further constitutes the participant’s transfer to the Promoter of any and all rights, title, and interest in and to the entry and the entrant’s likeness, including, without limitation, all intellectual property rights.
DATA PROTECTION/PRIVACY POLICY
- Subject to Nestlé’s Privacy Policy, the surnames and counties of verified winners will be available upon request by sending an email to: consumer.services@uk.nestle.com with the subject line ‘WINNER’S LIST: MAGGI® PROFESSIONAL CHEF COMPETITION 2025’, for a period of three (3) months following the end of the prize draw. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse any or all such requests. When contacting this email address, your request will be actioned in line with Nestlé’s Privacy Policy. If any winner objects to their information being published, then they can contact the Promoter by emailing UKI.dataprotection@uk.nestle.com with the subject line ‘MAGGI® PROFESSIONAL CHEF COMPETITION 2025’. The Promoter may nevertheless disclose the information to the Advertising Standards Authority if required to do so.
- The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this promotion or accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury, death and fraud) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law.
- Data Protection: The Promoter will only use the personal details supplied for the administration of the promotion and the auditing of the entries where necessary and for no other purpose, unless we have your consent/you have opted-in to receive future marketing communications. The surname, establishment/business name and county of verified winner will be made available as set out above. The winner can object to this by emailing UKI.Dataprotection@uk.nestle.com. Otherwise, your personal details will at all times be kept confidential and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 as applicable. You can request access to your personal data, have any inaccuracies rectified or request deletion of personal data by sending an email to UKI.Dataprotection@uk.nestle.com. By participating in the promotion, you agree to the use of your personal data as described here. You can withdraw your consent at any time. For the purpose of this promotion, requests to delete personal data can only be actioned after the promotion has concluded and the winner(s) accepted their prize. Any data obtained via this promotion will be deleted after three (3) months of the promotional end date with the exception of the winner(s) and reserves whose data will be deleted after fulfilment of the prize.
- In the event of this promotion being advertised on Facebook, Instagram or other external channels, participants should be aware that this promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with these channels. Entrants accept and understand that they are providing their information to the Promoter, and that the above-named social media platforms have no liability for any element of this promotion. Furthermore, any questions, comments or complaints regarding the promotion will be directed to the Promoter only.
GENERAL
- Limitations of liability: Neither the Promoter, its agents, or anyone professionally connected to the Promotion, assume any responsibility or liability for:
- Any for any faulty or failed electronic data transmissions. Votes, Entries or otherwise.
- Communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regards to any equipment, systems, networks, lines, satellites, servers, computers, or providers utilised in any aspect of this promotion.
- Inaccessibility or unavailability of the internet or the website or any combination thereof.
- Incomplete, illegible, misdirected or entries outside any promotional period will not be accepted. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of delivery. The Promoter takes no responsibility for entries delayed, incomplete or lost due to technical reasons or otherwise.
- If, for any reason, any aspect of this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter may in its sole discretion modify or suspend the promotion or invalidate any affected entries. If an act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these Terms and Conditions the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligation but will always endeavour to minimise the effect to participants in order to avoid undue disappointment.
- If any of these clauses should be determined to be illegal, invalid, or otherwise unenforceable then it shall be severed and deleted from these Terms and Conditions and the remaining clauses shall survive and remain in full force and effect.
- The Promotion and these Terms and Conditions will be governed by the laws of the participating country but any disputes as to the meaning of these Terms and Conditions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the participant’s local courts.
- In the event of circumstances outside the Promoter’s reasonable control and only where circumstances make this unavoidable, the Promoter and those partnered with the competition reserve the right to cancel or amend the competition, or these Terms and Conditions, at any stage but will endeavour to minimize the effect to entrants in order to avoid undue disappointment.
