What to expect at Toque d’Or 2024
Students who compete in Toque d’Or 2024 get the rare opportunity to showcase their knowledge, skill and passion to influential people across the industry through a variety of sustainability-inspired challenges. From farm to fork and bean to cup, entrants will learn all about sustainable farming and craft pioneering menus at every stage of the competition. Not to mention, they get the chance to learn and benefit from industry-leading mentorship from our expert judges.
Don’t take our word for it, though. College lecturers should register and find out more about the competition’s format and timeline.
Their hard work judged by culinary leaders
Award-winning chef and restaurateur, Tommy Banks, is back for a second year as the back of house judge, bringing his passion for farm to fork dining and sustainability, which remains central to the theme of the competition.

We’ll also treat 2024’s winners to an unforgettable gastronomic experience – savouring the very best food and drink the country has to offer.
What do the previous Toque d’Or winners have to say?
Since its inception in 1989, our Toque d’Or competition has worked with more than 150 colleges across the UK, providing opportunities and learning to more than 10,000 hospitality and culinary arts students. Just ask last year’s front-of-house (FOH) winner, Joshua Kerr, who, after returning from a once-in-a-lifetime foodie trip in Brazil, expressed how the competition has boosted his confidence both personally and professionally.
