Nestlé Professional® Toque d'Or® 2020 Terms and Conditions

  1. Competition open to UK & ROI residents only. 
  2. Registration opens online at 00:01 on 19th September 2019 and closes at 23:59 on 22nd November 2019. 
  3. All competitors will be registered for, and compete individually, representing their college or business. Some competition challenges will require teamwork, as determined by the organiser.
  4. Apprentices will be Level 2 or above, participating in a full-time recognised Apprenticeship and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions.
  5. Students will be Level 2 or above, participating in a full-time recognised course and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions.
  6. Toque d’Or 2020 has 4 competition strands – college back of house, college front of house, apprentice back of house and apprentice front of house. Competitors can only register for one strand.
  7. Students must be registered individually by their lecturer to represent their college. To complete registration students must opt in by following the email process triggered by lecturers starting registration (see below). A maximum of 8 students can be registered per college, per competition. 

HOW TO REGISTER:

  • Lecturer completes an online registration form for each of their student(s);
  • Nominated students receive an email confirming they have been registered and will need to opt in to complete their registration. This is done by using a link to a landing page that has a tick box for marketing permissions and confirms acceptance on the terms and conditions;  
  • Once a student has accepted and submitted their acceptance the registration is completed via a second landing page.
  1. Apprentices must register themselves to represent their business. To complete registration employers must provide approval by following the email process triggered by apprentices starting registration (see below). A maximum of 10 apprentices can register per business, per competition.

HOW TO REGISTER:

  • Apprentice completes an online registration form, including their employer’s details;
  • Nominated employer receives an email confirming their apprentice has registered and will need to opt in to complete their registration. This is done by using a link to a landing page that has a tick box for marketing permissions and confirms acceptance on the terms and conditions;  
  • Once an employer has accepted and submitted their acceptance the registration is completed via a second landing page.
  1. In order to enter, all back of house applicants will be required to create and submit a finished vegan dish that derives inspiration from a given theme. The theme will be decided by Nestlé Professional of which all details and criteria will be communicated once registration is complete.
  2. In order to enter, all front of house applicants will be required to create and submit a coffee-based drink that derives inspiration from a given theme. The theme will be decided by Nestlé Professional of which all details and criteria will be communicated once registration is complete.
  3. All entrants will be required to submit a link to a video showcasing their finished product and the inspiration behind it. The video must also include answers to the questions “Why do you want to be part of Toque d’Or 2020?” and “What does Sustainable Futures mean to you?" Videos should be uploaded to YouTube (publicly or privately) and be no longer than two (2) minutes.
  4. All entries submitted must be the entrants own original work and not previously published in any media. They must not infringe the copyright or other intellectual property rights of any third party. Any entry found to be copied, or the work of another chef, will be disqualified.
  5. Entries that are incomplete will not be accepted. A complete entry will consist of the following. Any entry not containing all the required elements will be deemed incomplete.
  • Applicant’s contact details (full name and email address)
  • Lecturer or employer details (full name, email address, phone number and business name)
  • Full costing sheet
  • Recipe and method
  • Video URL
  1. Once an entry has been submitted, revisions will not be accepted.
  2. Entries can be submitted from the day of registration and must be received digitally by 23:59 on 17th January 2020 at the latest.  Any entries received after the stated time/date will be not be eligible for inclusion in the competition. 
  3. Nestlé may wish to use photography or film from throughout the competition for promotional use – when filming and photography is taking place this will be clearly displayed. All participants attending the National Heats and Grand Finals will need to complete and sign a media release form. Entrants not wishing to feature in filming or photography can opt out by informing organisers on the day.
  4. By providing an entry, each participant grants the Promoter and its agents the right to publish, use, reproduce, distribute, make available, edit and/or modify the entry including recipes, in any way, in whole or in part, in commerce and in any and all media worldwide now known or hereinafter developed, in perpetuity and without consideration or notice to the participant. Providing any entry further constitutes the participant’s transfer to the Promoter of any and all rights, title, and interest in and to the entry and the entrant’s likeness, including, without limitation, all intellectual property rights.
  5. The competition heats will be held nationally in February 2020. 24 successful individual competitors from each competition strand [see point 6] will be invited to attend the heat in their region. Places are allocated based on location and there will be no cost to competitors, colleges or employers to attend.
  • A maximum of 4 students from the same college can be shortlisted to the Heats
  • A maximum of 4 apprentices per business, 2 per strand (see point 6), can be shortlisted to the Heats
  1. The Grand Finals will consist of a residential programme in London in April/May 2020. 6 successful individual competitors from each competition strand [see point 6] will be invited to attend the Grand Finals. These will be the highest scoring competitors from the National Heats. 
  • A maximum of 2 students per college, 1 per strand (see point 6), can be shortlisted to the Finals
  • A maximum of 2 apprentices per business, 1 per strand (see point 6), can be shortlisted to the Finals
  1. Travel and accommodation requirements for the Grand Finals will be organised and paid for by Nestlé Professional Toque d’Or office. Any further and additional expenses must be agreed by Nestlé Professional Toque d’Or in writing prior to the expenditure. Authentic receipts must support all claims. The Promoter reserves the right to reject any claims for expenses that have not been agreed, and/or are not in line with this clause.
  2. All finalists and a representative from their college/business will be invited to attend the Awards event in London in June 2019. Travel and accommodation requirements will be organised and paid for by Nestlé Professional Toque d’Or.
  3. The Nestlé Professional Toque d’Or organisers reserve the right to make changes without prior notice and will inform all relevant parties.
  4. Any expenses incurred beyond the agreed levels will be the responsibility of the competitor and/or their college/business.
  5. Entrants must be available to attend a National Heat and the Grand Finals on the dates and at the venues as specified by the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to amend the dates and venue in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
  6. Subject to Nestlé’s Privacy Policy, the surnames and colleges of verified winners will be available upon request by sending an email to: [email protected]. with the subject line ‘WINNERS LIST: ‘Nestlé Professional Toque d’Or 2020’ for a period of 3 months following the end of the promotion. If any winner objects to their information being published, then they can contact us by emailing [email protected] with the subject line ‘‘Nestlé Professional Toque d’Or 2020 Promotion’.
  7. Data Protection: The Promoter will only use the personal details supplied for the administration of the promotion and the auditing of the entries where necessary and for no other purpose, unless we have your consent/you have opted-in to receive future marketing communications. The surnames and colleges of verified winners will be made available as set out in Clause 25 above and winners can object to this by emailing [email protected]. Otherwise, your personal details will at all times be kept confidential and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 as applicable. By participating in the promotion, you agree to the use of your personal data as described here. You can withdraw your consent at any time. For the purpose of this promotion, requests to delete personal data can only be actioned after the promotion has concluded. Personal details entered on the Nestlé website will not be shared with any other third party.
