What Makes Our Delicious Veggie Burger Recipe So Special

This Veggie Burger Recipe serves 10.

INGREDIENTS

10 Garden Gourmet Burger Deluxe 

500g salad leaves

5 tomatoes, sliced

10 brioche burger buns

For the caramelised onions:
5 small onions, sliced

5tbsp caramelised onion chutney

1 tbsp olive oil 

 

For the coleslaw:
300g white and red cabbage, finely shredded

150g carrot, grated

100g low fat yogurt

100g light mayonnaise

METHOD

Prep time: 20 minutes Cooking time: 15-20 minutes

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C for fan ovens), Gas Mark 4. 
  2. Heat the oil and fry the onions over a moderate heat until turning brown, stirring frequently.  Turn the heat down and cook for 5-8 minutes until caramelised.  Add the chutney and let bubble for a further minute.  
  3. Mix the yogurt and mayonnaise in a large bowl.  Add the cabbage and carrot and coat in the dressing.
  4. Place the burgers on a baking tray and cook from frozen 12-15 minutes, turn halfway through adding the buns to the oven 3 minutes before the end of the cooking time.
  5. To serve: slice the buns and place a few salad leaves on to the base of the bun, top with a little coleslaw.  Add the burger, top with caramelised onions and tomato slices.
