3 apples

200g sweet shortcrust pastry

150g blackberries

397g CARNATION® Sweetened Condensed Milk

3 large eggs

METHOD

Prep: 15 minutes. Cook: 40 minutes.

  1. Preheat the oven to 180˚C (fan 160˚C). Cut the apples into quarters. Discard the cores and cut into wedges.  Scatter in a single layer onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 8 minutes.
  2. Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured work surface and use to line a lightly greased 20cm (8in) fluted tart tin or pie dish. Scatter the apples and blackberries evenly over the base of the pastry case.
  3. Whisk the condensed milk and eggs together until well combined and pour into the pastry case.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes until the pastry is golden and the filling is set. Allow to cool before serving.

CHEF'S TIP

Spice up the flavour of the custard with 1 level teaspoon of ground cinnamon which works very well with the apples and juicy blackberries.
