The KITKAT® brand was first registered as a trademark in 1911 and was initially used for a short while on a brand of boxed chocolates in the following decade.

 

 

The KITKAT® product in its current form was first sold on 29 August 1935, initially under the name ‘Chocolate Crisp’. The KITKAT® brand name and logo is now over 80 years old as it was introduced on pack in May 1937, alongside Chocolate Crisp, which was eventually dropped from the pack in 1949.

We have replaced some of the sugar in KITKAT® with a bit more of the existing ingredients that people know and love – cocoa and milk. 

KITKAT® sold in the UK and Ireland is produced using certified sustainable cocoa, sourced through the Nestlé Cocoa Plan.

KITKAT® contains no artificial colours, flavours and preservatives.
